A series of alphabets made from graffiti tags in neighbourhoods of London, Brussels, Lisbon and Nantes.

Since 2012, I have photographed graffiti tags in different neighbourhoods and then made selections, drawn, and arranged the individual letters into alphabets. I was curious to see what variations you might see if you compared the letters from different neighbourhoods, cities and countries. What becomes visible when you arrange the letters like this?

I created a Neighbourhood Alphabets website in 2022, and the project continues to evolve as I share it with the world. Watch this space!
